Hamptons Doc Fest now in its 17th year, is a nonprofit organization founded by filmmakers to champion and celebrate the rich, diverse and challenging world of non-fiction film. We recognize and honor documentary films and filmmakers who deserve a closer look.

WHO WE ARE
The Hamptons Doc Fest introduces the best of the documentary genre to audiences on the East End of Long Island each December in the historic village of Sag Harbor, New York. The festival has expanded beyond its signature December film festival to become a year round arts organization that provides a platform for emerging and established filmmakers and offers screenings for local communities and schools to experience the art of visual storytelling.

Hamptons Doc Fest
Hamptons Doc Fest is our signature event – an annual festival in December - ‘all docs all day’ - where we welcome filmmakers, documentary film lovers and local area students to the historic village of Sag Harbor, New York for dozens of films, discussions, panels, media labs, awards and celebrations. In this intimate, walkable setting, festival-goers enjoy the local area’s many shops, restaurants, inns, museums, and parks in between the screenings of outstanding new documentary films accompanied by discussions with the filmmakers.Docs Equinox .
Docs Equinox
Docs Equinox, in partnership with the Southampton Arts Center, welcomes spring with a 3-day documentary film+program launching at the start of Earth Day week in April. It combines documentary feature and short films with engaging panel talks, cocktail receptions, book signings and the presence and participation of local environmental groups.
Community Outreach
Hamptons Doc Fest created and supports this popular community outreach program “FilmArts+Forum” which makes our award-winning festival films available at no cost to the East End and Shelter Island libraries as well as non-profit organizations such as the South Fork Natural History Society, the Parrish Art Museum, and the Southampton Arts Center among others.

Young Voices
Digital media and the moving image are the language of today’s youth, a generation held captive by the internet, cell phones, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, television, interactive video games and platforms yet to debut. Our youth programs aim to teach students the language of film and social engagement.

HAN focuses on creating events to shine a light on the year-round cultural mecca located on Long Island’s East End.
